Timothy, a beneficiary of the Women Empowerment Micro Small Enterprise Support Project (WEMSES) under Civic Forum on Housing and Habitat Zambia in partnership with We Effect, is steadily transforming his agribusiness venture into a growing community supply business in Mandevu.
Starting with small orders, Timothy Siuluta now suppliers pure honey sourced from Kapiri alongside potatoes and eggs within his commiunity. His business gained visibility at the 8th International Women and Youths Exhibition by Nkonka Women in Agribusiness held at the Lusaka Showgrounds.
The exhibition brought together farmers, students, financial institutions, and agropreneurs, where participants were encouraged to embrace innovation and entreneurship to strengthen Zambia’s food systems and expand market opportunities beyond the country.
Through the platform, Timothy gained knowledge on land rights, nutrition security, sustainable land use, and the role of youths in building food-resilient communities. He also appreciated the mentorship and networking opportunities, which inspired to takw agribusiness as a serious long-term venture.
Today, Timothy’s growing honey business stands as a testimony of how community support exposure, and market linkages can empower young entrepreneurs.
